Families with Children from China Australia (FCCA) is the only national parent group that acts solely for families who have adopted, or are in the process of adopting, children of Chinese ethnicity. FCCA currently has approximately 140 families as members throughout Australia.  The group is run by a committee made up of volunteer parent members.  If you’d like to become a member, or would like more information please email: info@fccaustralia.com.au with any queries.

Why Join?

  • National support – no matter where you live, there are opportunities for all members to connect online through a dedicated Facebook group and email groups. The association aims to create a supportive community where members can ask questions, share information and insight.
  • Get-togethers & events – these are organised from time to time by the committee. They include family gatherings as well as events specific for the various demographics of the membership. Recent events (see ‘Events’) include,
    • Cherry Yan cultural workshops in different states
    • Skyzone social event
    • Gabby Malpas art workshops
    • Xinran book talk

The association also organises a national biannual gathering called the Ju Hui, for pre and post adoption families. This gathering is held in a different place in Australia each time (see ‘Events’ for the 2016 & 2018 Ju Huis). Inbetween times many of our member families will meet informally.

  • Ni Hao Magazine – periodically (volunteer support forthcoming) members receive our digital newsletter with member news, articles and comments on adoption issues and coverage of our childrens’ activities and achievements.
  • Tweens & Teens – the association is focused on providing opportunities for our teenagers to connect. We value the feedback and suggestions from our membership as to how this can be done best.
  • FCC-A Chinese Heritage Tours – association families have come together to travel to China – many more than once. The itinerary of each tour is designed specifically for the needs of our members and the opportunity to travel with other families creates a unique and memorable experience. FCC-A families are offered tours at a discounted rate (see ‘Events’ for more information).

Annual membership is $50 (Download Membership Form).

FCCA’s 3 key goals:

a) To support families who have adopted children of Chinese ethnicity through post-adoption and Chinese culture programs.

b) To encourage adoption of children of Chinese ethnicity and support waiting families.

c) To advocate for and support children remaining in orphanages in China.
